The Charles Stuart Open Graded meeting is being staged at Middlesbrough Sports Village. It is hoped that as many athletes as possible will sign up to pay homage to a remarkable man.
He was not only the driving force in getting the facilities built at MSV but also arranged for the grandstand to be extended so that photo finish equipment could be installed. PF results are preferred on power of 10 so it is a chance to get higher in the rankings. Charles also manufactured the white post for hand timing to ensure accuracy
Charles was also on the North of England Timekeeping Committee which raised the standards of time keeping so that manual timekeeping will be very accurate for your results.
He also did a lot for Middlesbrough AC (Mandale), coaching athletes to World, Olympic and European levels, Chairman of the club and team manager /relay organiser of Cleveland Schools Athletics Association to mention but a few of his successes.
I urge you to enter early to be guaranteed a place and since the event takes place one week before the North East Championships you will get a chance for you and your coach to see your progress as well as recognizing one of the most influential coaches in the region.
The Darlington Harriers KIERAN MAXWELL meeting was an outstanding success let us make ours equally as good.
