Will you run and jump, make results your aim, go your distance to the last then compete again, set your target high, then race on to reach the sky.
To succeed a hard regime applies, in the races athletes run, one only wins the prize, the body bears the pain, and the performance makes the gain.
Sunday 5th July sees the penultimate match in the senior team series at Gateshead, If you can spare some time we require helpers to assist the officials at 3 events, Women's Long Jump (11:45), Women's Triple jump (2:00), Men's Triple Jump (3:35). Please speak to the team manager on arrival Glen Blenkinsop if you can helpout.

Following the de-brief and committee meeting recently, Jill King would like to thank all athletes, officials and helpers who contributed to a very successful Cyril Elliott meeting. She would like to attend the coaches meeting in October to discuss the events for the 2010 meeting. These will probably include 300m for U17 ladies and possibly 1200m and 2000m races at Junior and Senior levels. Other alterations will be that entry on the day will close at 10:30 and all participants will receive a memento of the day with the under11's and 13's receiving medals also. Success of the day were the disability races thoroughly enjoyed by both competitors and the appreciative audience. The date for the 2010 meeting will be announced after the MFC fixtures are in place!

To all Coaches: The Membership Secretary is about to register all current paid up members of the club to England Athletics (thats £5.00 per person). They then get a competitive licence number - many of you will have that number on the back of your membership card already. If you are coaching athletes who are likely to be entered into competition, they will need to join the club immediately, then they will be registered for competition. Club registration will be sent to England Athletics on April 27 and then on a monthly basis.
