higher, faster, longer, further, there’s a place for everyone

Will you run and jump, make results your aim,
go your distance to the last then compete again,
set your target high, then race on to reach the sky.

To succed a hard regime applies, in the races athletes run, one only wins the prize, the body bears the pain, and the performance makes the gain.

win with modesty lose with dignity

Jill will again be down at the track in the Reception area on Thursday 11th from 1800, Club athletes are very welcome to renew their subs then.

Clairville are updating their CRB records and have asked Jill as the club CRB Verifier to supply them with a current list. They may contact you via Jill to photocopy CRB licenses for their records. Please make sure you have an up-to-date CRB.

If you've some spare time and not entering the Cyril Elliott Open, on Sunday the 11th of April, Jill the organiser is still looking for people to help out, as officials on the track or field also helping out in the canteen and other jobs, e-mail Jill if you can at jill@middlesbroughac.org.uk

If you cant but know of someone who might like to give us a hand, pass on these details, the more people we have helping out the more slick the meeting will go and we will all have a fantastic fun packed day.

This event relies on sponsorship, we know that times are hard, the entrants to this event are the future of athletics and need supporting, funds secured are channeled into transporting our Junior and Youth teams around the country to compete with the elite of there age ranges. Last year with a lot of hard work from the athletes, officials and parent supporters our Junior team gained promotion to the Northern Premier League, we would like to see our Youth and Senior teams follow them into higher divisions. The Cyril Elliott Open attracts athletes from all over the North East of England and is the first major event in the North East Track & Field season, for further details about sponsorship packages contact jill@middlesbroughac.org.uk

On learning of his selection Babatunde thanked his mum Pauline, his coach of 11 years Rick Betts and others such as strength coach Matthew Wright of Teesside University and for their help in getting him to this stage in his career. He said “it's a great honour and it wouldn't have been possible without a lot of help from a lot of people over the years and I hope it I can be a bit of an inspiration to other young athletes in my group and my club”
