My name is Georgia Dunn and I am a PhD researcher from Anglia Ruskin University. My research is focused on those who require the use of spectacles, and how these spectacles could impact their running gait. I have found your running club online and was wondering if you had any members that would fit the inclusion criteria and would be willing to fill out my online survey?
The participation would be greatly appreciated for furthering my PhD research as it would further my understanding of running experiences with and without spectacles. If you had a social media page, would it be possible for you to share it on there to your members at all?
Here is the link for the survey:
Thank you in advance and happy new year!
Message from MSV:
Unfortunately the pending lockdown does include all external activities so the last sessions for November will be on Wednesday 4th, with the hope we’ll be back on the 2nd December.
Please can you contact your bank as soon as possible and pause your standing order to the club until further notice.
If you pay by a bank transfer every month, again contact the bank and cancel payments for November and December.
We know a few of you pay earlier than the 15th November and your payment may have already gone through. If this is the case, then contact Mike or myself to obtain a refund. email@example.com
Please don’t send any bank details at this stage, just an acknowledgement that you need a refund.
With the very uncertain future for a track return in December, we are asking you not to pay for that month.
If the track is available for part of December and structured sessions can go ahead, we are asking coaches to book and pay for them on a pay as you go casual basis. Your coach will be in contact if and when this happens.
We hope you will appreciate that this uncertainty is beyond our control but that we can look to a brighter new year.
Our very best wishes for you to stay safe and take care
Mike and Jill

England Athletics is working with Sport England, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and our other key stakeholders to make sure we provide absolute clarity as soon as possible in terms of what the latest lockdown restrictions mean for athletics, running and our sport in general.
We will provide further detail over the coming days and our existing guidance applies until further notice
Please don’t cancel any sessions or ask parents to cancel standing orders YET .
Following a meeting of the NYSD officers last night a decision was taken regarding the NYSD XC season for 2020-21. In light of the current situation regarding the recent UKA protocols for Covid 19 for XC and the changing rules and restrictions being issued by the government it was decided that we will NOT be holding any NYSD XC meetings this season.
This decision was not taken lightly, with the health and safety of athletes, marshalls and officials at the forefront of our minds, we feel this is the correct course of action at this time.
Take care and stay safe
Sid Rudd (NYSD XC sec)
Return to Activity – guidance update 24.09.20
As a result of the new restrictions outlined by UK government on 22 September, we can confirm that guidance for OUTDOOR club and group activity as well as all types of OUTDOOR competitions for athletics and running is not affected. However, guidance for INDOOR activity has been updated. Indoor activity for under 18s can take place with larger numbers in a Covid-secure environment. Indoor training for athletes over the age of 18 is restricted to groups of 6 (1 coach to 5 athletes).
English National XC Relays 2020 – the format will be over 2 days 31st October and 1st of November but entry will be by invitation only. Invites will be sent to the first 30 clubs (A teams only) in each race in the 2019 championships. Full details will be sent out but check the website www.englishcrosscountry.co.uk
