The forthcoming Senior match, Sunday 05.08.07 is very important for the promotion match.
Based on a paper competition using season best performances (from power of 10) of the athletes for our best team, against the same of the other teams that will be at the promotion match (or likely to be), Middlesbrough AC came 1 st by over 20 points.
However, this is based on our best team (or close to) and therefore involves some athletes that haven't yet competed for us in the senior league
The league rules say that we can only take athletes to the promotion match that have already competed in a league match.
Therefore, if someone hasn't competed for us yet, this Sunday's match is the last opportunity to be eligible for the promotion match to help us get the promotion that we deserve.
It would probably be best for anyone wanting to compete to contact the team managers, at present it is middles distance runners that can have a big impact to our promotion hopes, as well as several u17 athletes along the board. The promotion match is an excellent opportunity to get some great competition before the season closes and will be on the 1 st or 2 nd of September.
A final note, to compete, remember your membership fees have to be up to date!
Why pay an annual fee?
Athletes must now be registered with England Athletics to be eligible to compete in Leagues or Championships. If you do not pay your club subscription, which includes the registration fee, you will not be registered.
Insurance, if you've not paid your annual subscription you wont be covered, any accident you have, your liable, its in your best interest to make sure your fees are paid.
What's the chances of a serious accident occurring at a track and field meeting? Look what happened at this years Golden League in Rome. >>

Paul McNally
Members will be saddened to learn that Paul McNally was seriously injured in a road accident on the night of the 20th January. Paul was transferred to Durham university hospital over the weekend from Sunderland where he is undergoing further treatment. Paul is a long standing club member having represented the club in all age groups at both track, field and cross-country. I know all members who know him, will wish him a speedy recovery.
