Great North Run, 8 September 2019

Teesside Hospices has a limited number of guaranteed places available for the Great North Run 2019 and would love it if  any-one would like to support them by running in this iconic race to raise funds.

A local charity, they rely on the support of local people to run events such as the Great North Run to help us raise funds.  Teesside Hospice offers palliative care for people over the age of 18 who are living with a life-limiting illness when a cure is no longer possible.  Care is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year and reaches thousands of local people.

Their aim is to make sure patients and their families have access to specialist palliative care, in the belief that each person is entitled to dignity and choice within the best provision of care.

Each year it costs £2.8 million to provide  services and support to 3,000 people across Teesside. Grants and NHS funding cover around a third of this expenditure, which means the rest of the work is funded by individuals, organisations, businesses and foundations who support.
